Hyundai Recalls 92,000 New Kia Motors to Respond to Fire Risk in U.S. Market
현대자동차와 기아가 미국에서 판매한 신형 차량들에 대해 화재위험이 있는 문제로 인해 대규모 리콜을 발표했습니다.
로이터 통신에 따르면, 현대차와 기아는 2023년부터 2024년까지 생산된 차량 9만1000여대를 리콜 대상으로 지정했습니다. 이에 해당하는 모델은 현대차 펠리세이드 2023~2024년형과 투싼, 쏘나타, 엘란트라, 코나 2023년형 그리고 기아의 쏘울과 스포티지 2023년형입니다.
현대자동차와 기아는 이러한 차량에 탑재된 ISG(Idle Stop & Go) 오일펌프의 전동식 제어기에 손상된 전자부품이 설치돼 있어 과열을 유발할 가능성이 있다고 밝혔습니다. ISG 시스템은 차를 멈췄을 때 자동으로 엔진을 정지시키는 기능을 수행합니다.
해당 차량들의 소유주들은 야외에 주차한 차량을 딜러들이 점검하고 오일 펌프기를 교체할 예정입니다. 이로 인해 안전 문제를 해결하고 소비자들의 불편을 최소화하고자 하는 조치입니다.
Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp. have announced large-scale recalls of new vehicles sold in the United States due to fire-risk issues.
According to Reuters, Hyundai Motor and Kia have designated 91,000 vehicles produced from 2023 to 2024 as the recall targets. The corresponding models are Hyundai Motor’s Felicade 2023-2024 and Tucson, Sonata, Elantra, Kona 2023 and Kia’s Soul and Sportage 2023.
Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp. say damaged electronic components are installed in the electric controller of the ISG (Idle Stop & Go) oil pump on these vehicles, which may cause overheating. The ISG system automatically stops the engine when the vehicle is stopped.
Owners of these vehicles will be checked by dealers for parked vehicles outdoors and replaced with oil pumps. This is a measure to solve safety problems and minimize inconvenience to consumers.
