최근 온라인 커뮤니티에는 “하이브 본사 앞에서 칼을 휘두를 것이며, 방시혁 회장이 반드시 등장하기를 바란다”는 협박글이 등장했다. 이를 수사하기 위해 경찰은 신고를 받은 8일과 9일에 하이브 사옥 주변을 수색했으나, 흉기를 소지한 개인을 찾아내지 못했다. 경찰은 글 작성자가 미성년자일 가능성도 고려하고 있다고 밝혔다.
하이브 측은 “본사의 보안을 강화하고 있다”고 밝혔다. 최근 연이은 흉기 난동 사건 이후, 불특정 다수를 겨냥한 협박글이 연예계로 향하는 현상이 지속되고 있는 상황이다.
