이는 중국 인구의 절반이 게임 이용자로 나타난 것으로, 중국 게임산업협회가 상하이에서 개최된 게임 업계 콘퍼런스에서 발표한 내용입니다.
또한 중국 게임산업은 상반기 매출이 1천442억6천만 위안(약 26조원)을 기록하여 성장세로 돌아섰다고 협회가 밝혔습니다. 이로 인해 중국의 게임산업은 세계 게임시장의 둔화에도 저점을 벗어나 상승세를 보이고 있는 상태입니다.
그러나 하반기에 진행될 도전에 대해서는 협회가 “게임 산업의 신뢰를 높여야 한다”고 언급했습니다.
지난해에는 중국 당국의 게임 중독 예방을 위해 게임 업계 단속이 이뤄지면서 중국의 게임 인구는 줄어들기도 했습니다. 당국은 온라인 게임 시간을 일주일에 3시간으로 제한하는 규정을 발표하고, 게임 신규 판호 발급도 중단하는 등 강력한 규제를 시행했습니다. 이로 인해 주요 게임사들의 매출은 감소했으나, 최근에는 게임 매출이 다시 증가세를 보이고 있습니다.
앨리샤 얍 애널리스트는 중국 당국이 연말까지 최대 1천∼1천100편의 게임에 판호를 발급할 것으로 전망하고 있으며, 이는 작년에 허가받은 게임 수의 거의 2배에 해당한다고 보고서에서 언급했습니다.

Last year, China’s game population decreased as the Chinese authorities cracked down on the game industry to prevent game addiction. Authorities have issued regulations that limit online game time to three hours a week, and have implemented strong regulations, including suspending the issuance of new game titles. As a result, sales of major game companies have decreased, but game sales have been on the rise again recently.
Chinese authorities expect to issue editions to up to 1,100 games by the end of the year, nearly double the number of licensed games last year, analyst Alicia Yab said in the report.
