12일에 따르면, 영화진흥위원회 통합전산망과 배급사 롯데엔터테인먼트에 따르면, 최근 개봉한 영화 ‘콘크리트 유토피아’는 개봉 4일만에 100만 관객을 돌파했다. 이 관객 수는 9일 개봉한 이후 누적된 수치로, 오후 4시 40분경에 이루어진 기록이다.
‘콘크리트 유토피아’는 웹툰 ‘유쾌한 왕따’의 2부인 ‘유쾌한 이웃’을 원작으로 삼고 있다. 영화는 지난 2014년에 김숭늉 작가에 의해 창작된 내용을 기반으로 하며, 엄태화 감독이 연출을 맡았다. 엄태화 감독은 이전에 ‘잉투기'(2013)와 ‘가려진 시간'(2016) 등을 연출한 경력을 가지고 있다.
영화는 대지진으로 폐허가 된 서울에서 황궁 아파트가 유일하게 붕괴되지 않고 남은 곳으로 생존자들이 모여들면서 벌어지는 이야기를 다루고 있다. 주인공인 주민 대표 ‘영탁’의 역할은 배우 이병헌이 맡아내어 호평을 받고 있다. 영탁은 외부로부터의 위험을 무릅쓰고 아파트를 보호하기 위해 힘쓰는 인물로 그림자를 드리우며 관객들의 마음을 사로잡고 있다. 또한 박서준과 박보영 등 다양한 배우들이 출연해 영화에 더욱 화력을 더하고 있다.

“Concrete Utopia” is based on “Cheerful Neighbors,” the second part of the webtoon “Cheerful Bullying.” The film is based on the content created by writer Kim Soo-nung in 2014, and was directed by Um Tae-hwa. Director Eom Tae-hwa has previously directed “Inting Speculation” (2013) and “Covered Time” (2016).
The movie tells the story of a group of survivors gathering in Seoul, where the palace apartment was the only one left without collapsing. Actor Lee Byung-hun plays the role of the main character, “Yeongtak,” the representative of the residents, and is receiving favorable reviews. Young-tak is a figure who tries to protect the apartment at the risk of the outside world, casting a shadow and captivating the hearts of the audience.
