서현역 AK플라자 흉기 난동, 경찰 구속영장 신청

경기 성남시 분당구 서현역 AK플라자에서 지난 3일 발생한 ‘분당 서현역 흉기 난동사건’의 20대 피의자에 대해 경찰이 구속영장을 신청했습니다.
4일에 따르면 경기남부경찰청 흉기 난동 사건 수사전담팀은 살인미수 혐의로 최모(22)씨에 대해 구속영장을 신청했습니다.
최 씨는 전날 3일 오후 5시 59분께 성남시 분당구 서현동 AK플라자 백화점 1∼2층에서 시민들을 향해 흉기를 마구 휘둘러 9명을 다치게 한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.
이에 앞서 그는 흉기 난동 전 모친 소유의 모닝 차량을 몰고 백화점 앞 인도로 돌진하면서 보행자를 들이받아 4명이 크게 다치고 1명이 현장에서 응급 처치를 받았습니다. 이 가운데 20대 여성과 60대 여성 등 2명은 위중한 상태입니다.
그는 최초 신고가 접수된 지 6분 만인 오후 6시 5분에 현행범으로 경찰에 체포되었습니다.
경찰에 따르면 최 씨는 사건 발생 전날 범행을 결심하고 대형 마트에서 흉기 2점을 구매해 서현역에 갔지만, 무서워서 실행에 옮기지 못했다는 취지로 진술한 것으로 알려졌습니다.
범행 장소 선정과 관련해서는 “서현역에 자신을 스토킹하는 구성원 다수가 있을 것으로 생각해 범행 장소로 정했다”고 진술한 것으로 알려졌습니다.
최 씨는 앞선 경찰 조사에서 “특정 집단이 나를 스토킹하며 괴롭히고 죽이려 한다”며 “나의 사생활도 전부 보고 있다”고 진술했습니다.
경찰은 그의 가족 등을 통해 최 씨가 대인기피증으로 고등학교 1학년 재학 중 자퇴했으며, 2~3년 전 정신의학과 진료를 통해 분열성 성격장애 진단을 받은 사실을 파악했습니다.
이어 병원 기록을 확인한 결과 최 씨가 2020년 ‘조현성 인격장애(분열성 성격장애) 진단을 받은 이후 최근 3년간 정신과 진료를 받지 않은 것으로 파악되었습니다.
최 씨에 대한 구속 전 피의자 심문(영장실질심사)는 오는 5일에 열릴 예정입니다.

Choi is accused of injuring nine people by wielding a weapon against citizens on the first and second floors of the AK Plaza department store in Seohyeon-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, at 5:59 p.m. on the 3rd of the previous day.
Earlier, he drove his mother’s morning vehicle into the sidewalk in front of the department store before the knife rampage, seriously injuring four people and receiving first aid at the scene. Two of them, a woman in her 20s and a woman in her 60s, are in critical condition.
He was caught red-handed at 6:05 p.m., six minutes after the initial report was received.
According to the police, Choi decided to commit the crime the day before the incident and bought two weapons at a large mart and went to Seohyeon Station, but he was too scared to carry them out.
Regarding the selection of the crime site, he reportedly stated, “I thought there would be a large number of members stalking me at Seohyeon Station, so I chose it as the crime site.”
In an earlier police investigation, Choi said, “A certain group is stalking me, bothering me, and trying to kill me,” adding, “I’m also seeing all of my private life.”
Through his family and others, the police found out that Choi dropped out of his first year of high school due to interpersonal avoidance and was diagnosed with schizophrenic personality disorder through psychiatric treatment two to three years ago.
Then, as a result of checking hospital records, it was found that Choi had not received psychiatric treatment for the past three years since he was diagnosed with schizophrenic personality disorder in 2020.
The interrogation of the suspect before Choi’s arrest (warrant substantive examination) is scheduled to be held on the 5th.
